The Anatolian Shepherd is a working guardian, and it is his work ethic that is his first and foremost personality trait. He will defend his herd or family to the end if necessary. He is one of the most protective dogs on the planet, not to be confused with an aggressive dog.
He is a very gentle and loving dog that can enjoy a snooze in the company of his human family. He is a tranquil dog who is very independent, and he is happy to spend most of his day relaxing in the company of his herd.
The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a breed of dog which originated in the Anatolia region of central Turkey. It is rugged, large and very strong, with good sight and hearing that allow it to protect livestock. These dogs are Bold, Intelligent, Confident, Proud, Steady, and Independent.
Large, rugged and powerful, the Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a working guard dog, possessing a superior ability to protect livestock.
While not a "glamour" breed, the Anatolian's loyalty, independence and hardiness is cherished by breeders and owners.
The breed's coat can be short (one inch) or rough (approximately four inches), with all color patterns and markings, including fawn and brindle, equally acceptable." Colors: White, Brindle, Liver, Red Fawn, Blue Fawn, White & Biscuit."
Zena, Zeus, Blue, Smokey, & L'Diesel
Born November 7, 2016
Zena was born on a sheep farm in Blossom, Texas. She was the only white/biscuit puppy in her litter. She has changed coat colors over the years. She drops her coat twice a year and everytime it comes back a little different.
Both of her parents are AKC registered. She comes from an excellent line of livestock guard dogs. I did not purchase her AKC registration paperwork, or breeding rights.

Blue was born on a goat farm in Blanket, Texas.
Blue is a blue fawn brindle. Short, slick coat. She is out of championship lines

Zeus was born on a goat and chicken farm in Howe, Texas.
Zeus is a blue fawn with black mask and black ears. Both of his parents are AKC registered, but I bought him for his excellent line of livestock guard dog abilities as well. I did not purchase his AKC registration paperwork, or breeding rights.

L'Diesel was born on a goat farm in north Texas. I picked him up on July 4th, 2019!! What a fun day that was.
"L'D" was NEVER little. At 10 months old he weighed over 120 lbs. He weighs about 155 lbs now and is a sweet, efficient, and loving guardian dog. But don't let the that fool you, he does NOT allow predator's near our livestock or on our property.
