The Catahoula Leopard Dog
"Catahoula" or "Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog", is fairly common in Louisiana and all around the Gulf Coast in the South Eastern United States. Outside of this area, though, they are extremely rare and are practically nonexistent outside of the Americas.

*Unlike other herding breeds, Catahoula's developed a unique style of creating a "canine fence" around the livestock that allows the human handler to direct the herd. When it comes to breeding, it's their instinct, more than appearance or temperament, that makes a Catahoula.
*Catahoula's are the only breed of dog to have historically originated in the state of Louisiana. Catahoula's are the state dog of Louisiana.
*Sylvester Stallone has had Catahoula's. One from Craig Sellier & one from Don Abney.
*Paul Foster had Catahoula's as well. One from Don Abney.
