She is head strong, doesn't back down, and she decides when she is going to mind, or not!  She is incredibly athletic and agile, easily jumping over a 5' fence with ease.  She likes to be the boss and definitely is the Alpha female.

She was a great mom, whelping an average of 14 pups per litter.

"Taladu" means "cricket" in Cherokee.  After picking this darling little girl up from Don and Kathleen Abney's home in  Abita Springs, Louisiana, she made little cricket noises all night long.

Tala is the sweetest, smartest, easy going Catahoula I've owned.  She looks at me and knows what I want, and I don't have to ask twice.

She is a great mom, whelping an average of 9 pups per litter.  2025 will be her final litter.  She will retire and enjoy the rest of her life here on the farm, along with her mom, Kachina.

Kachina was gifted to us from Kathleen Abney.   Both mother and daughter are always at my side, especially on the couch!

Tala is out of one of the last litters that Don Abney bred before he passed away on December 18, 2019.  Her dad is Jetta's Gumbeaux, who was also gifted to us after Don passed away.

Tala's bloodline has so many grand champions and champions.  These are incredibly intelligent dogs that continue to carry the genes in their bloodlines and the confirmation of the champions before them.

She is a great mom, whelping an average of 11 pups per litter.  2026 will be her final litter.

My dearest Precious, one of my first Catahoula's.  She was a powerhouse at only 45 lbs.  She NEVER backed down from anything!  Precious whelped two litters of puppies.  We kept Alpha, Moose, and Hercules.
